- LETTER MATCH is an easy to play and very challenging word game, designed
- to test your memory, category knowledge and spelling.
-
- The object of the game is to match as many words as possible, each time
- trying to beat the score you have posted in the high score file, as well
- other players scores.
-
- The Sysop determines the category subject and the program will display it
- at the top of the box that contains the current word you are working with.
-
- You must think of a word, in line with the current category, whose first
- letter matches the last letter of the word in the box OR whose last letter
- matches the first letter of the word in the box.
-

-
- For Example: Given the category "STATES and CAPITALS" and an initial word
- of "OREGON", you could use the last letter in "COLORADO" to
- match the first letter in "OREGON" or you could use the first
- letter in "NEW YORK" to match the last letter in "OREGON". The
- first letter of the word on your screen must match the last
- letter of the word you play and vice versa. In addition words
- already played by you or the computer are no longer eligible
- for play.
-
- The word you choose then replaces the word in the box. At this point you
- will chooses another word OR the computer will play a word. Your Sysop
- controls whether or not the computer will be playing.
-
- The program automatically detects if there are any remaining matches that
- can be made. If none remain the game will end. You can quit at any time
- and your accumulated score, up to that time, will be saved IF it is greater
- than the score you may already have in the high score file.
